Annual Classic Yacht Festival

From 01/08/2011 to 07/08/2011 – Puerto de lo Pagán

The Classic of the Mar Menor is a sporting event, cultural and international tourism. A week-rich activities, all related to the sea, their jobs, traditions and history itself. It is a floating museum of classic and vintage boats, referring to the past. An outdoor exhibitionof true gems of the past. A cultural event of great significance in a region where the coastline has witnessed in our history and latinos boat races is a reference in these waters for over 100 years. It is full of a sports rivalry, which contributes to the knowledge ofnaval history and the recovery of nautical heritage. It is a tourist attraction capable of gathering a large number of visitors and generate an unusual excitement, a flurry of news and a really beautiful image of our region. It is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the summer wherever held.
Two magnificent sceneries, on one hand an impressive display floating docks and a spectacle of light and color in the sea.

The arrival of the “Hispania” at the Mar Menor, is itself a major event. After ten years of restoration in England, Palma and Puerto de Santa Maria, finally this magnificent yacht will be ready to deploy its sails on a classic sailing festival.
This cutter gaff sail class International Formula 15 meters, designed by William Fife III built in the shipyard Karpard Pasajes, was commissioned by HRH Don Alfonso XIII to compete in international regattas.
